Common questions
Is the simulator really free? +
Yes. The single-firm pass-probability simulator with 5,000 Monte Carlo paths is free forever, no credit card required, and so is the entire quant toolkit (Kelly sizing, risk of ruin, edge significance, etc.). The cross-firm comparator and the live trade-by-trade journal pass-probability require Core.
Challenge Pass or Core — which should I get? +
If you're going through a single evaluation right now, the Challenge Pass ($29 one-time) gives you 60 days of the full Core feature set with no subscription — it lines up with how long an attempt actually takes. If you trade challenges continuously, Core ($19/mo, or $140/yr) is cheaper over time and never expires. Both unlock the exact same features; the only difference is one-time-60-days vs recurring. A Pass bought while one is already active stacks onto the end.
How does it pay for itself? +
The most common failure mode is sizing or timing wrong on a firm with punishing trailing-DD geometry. The toolkit (Kelly sizing, risk of ruin, DD-distance-aware sizing, phase-shift sizing) tells you the right risk per trade and the firm's pass probability before you pay the challenge fee. At $150–$400 per evaluation — and an industry average of ~$4,270 spent on evals before a trader turns profitable — avoiding even one bad attempt covers the Pass many times over.
Do you tell me what strategies to trade? +
No, and that's deliberate. Edge — what to trade — is what an analytics product cannot honestly give you. What it can move is execution: how to size, when to stop, how to verify whether your apparent edge is statistically real. The seven toolkit functions answer those questions with established quantitative methods (Kelly criterion, gambler's ruin, Wilson CI, binomial test) instead of opinions about which setup works this month.
What is the live pass-probability feature? +
As you log real trades in your active challenge attempt, The Desk measures your realized win rate, average R:R, and trades per day, then feeds those numbers back into the Monte Carlo simulator against your firm's exact barrier rules. The result: a trade-by-trade probability-of-passing signal that updates every time you log a trade.
Which firms does the simulator cover? +
42 firm/tier combinations across futures, forex, and mixed: Top Step (3 tiers), Apex (4 variants), FTMO (2 tiers), MyFundedFutures (2 variants), Tradeify, Earn2Trade (2), Take Profit Trader (4), Bulenox (3), OneUp (2), UProfit (2), TickTickTrader, Leeloo, The5ers (2), FundedNext (3), The Funded Trader (4), E8 Markets, FunderPro, Goat Funded Trader, City Traders Imperium, Lux Trading, Audacity Capital. Every firm carries a "rules verified" date that we re-check on a schedule; defunct firms (MyForexFunds, SurgeTrader) are intentionally excluded.
Can I cancel at any time? +
Yes. Once subscribed, use the Billing link in the top navigation to open the secure Stripe portal, where you can update your card, change plan, or cancel. If you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period. The one-time Challenge Pass simply expires at the end of its 60 days — nothing to cancel.
